Is it me or is the conversation turning very strange and making less sense? They went from discussing their dad to his problems.

I guess this is Henry's way of saying "I don't really care, I manage, you can too?". Which is a bit weird because he was willing to hear him out a minute ago.

Yeah it's wild. It's almost as if when Lionel tells him not to change the subject, he completely ignores him and does it anyway.

Yeah, I figured that out. What I am confused by is his sudden hostility.

Oh, and Lionel: he IS trying to help you and get through to you, no need to bring the little plastic women into this.

Also: ah, the magic power of vaginas presents itself again!

Have deep-seated issues? Emotional problems? Lack of confidence in yourself due to experiencing failures that were your fault? Under tremendous amount of stress to succeed and have no patience for the laziness of people around you? Not authoritative in a sufficiently manly manner!

All you need is a genuine, flesh-and-blood vagina! Because all problems of a man are simply due to his dick not getting a vagina! No need to use empathy and use theory of mind understand problems unfamiliar to you, because all REAL men are strong and their only weakness is that they don't have a vagina! After all, REAL men are strong and stoic to the point that they cannot have real emotional problems, so they just mask their lust by feigning emotional problems so they would get the sympathy of women who are all about emotional problems!

If you are confused by the above, please re-read it in a deeply sarcastic tone of voice. Because vaginas are not actually magic.

I know you're being sarcastic, but for anyone else who may look over this and not understand, the Jewish attitude towards sex is less about physical pleasure and more about companionship, bonding and responsibility. Sex is the wife's right instead of the man's. It's quite obvious that everyone here isn't kosher or faithfully practicing Judaism (well, minus Faust but that hasn't really been established yet), but that's partially due to French society's attitudes towards sex, premarital and extra marital sex and approval of long term partners outside of marriage.
Basically it's an implication that sexual activity goes hand-in-hand with a relationship that's both healthy and fulfilling emotionally. At least ideally. But of course, no one in this comic can have nice things. :^)

The "pussies are magic" attitude has nothing to do with Jews. It is a common thing, at least in Western culture, maybe an inherent problem of masculine culture. I actually got that Henry is trying to say more here (especially with the therapist line), but I think the connotation with sex is hampering his case, not helping it. If Lionel refuses sex, that's his choice, leave it be. He does need a human(oid?) to open up with and share his worries though. I get that demons are good friends for him and actually care for him, but I do get the impression that they can't give him something that maybe a human could. I just don't think it necessarily is a woman.

As a side note, the thing "wives sex drive must be satisfied" thing is actually something that is also in common with Puritans. The idea that only men want constantly sex and women don't is actually reverse, because in Western culture the opposite was believed: that women were sexually-hungry maniacs and men were superior because they could control themselves.

You may laugh. The turnaround actually emerged relatively recently, with the idea of morally proper ladies. It was a tradeoff made in the day to gain moral respectability that then became a imitable trait and thus became standard culture.

You completely missed the subtext of my comment and that I was pointing things out to anyone who may not of understood. I even started the comment with "I know you're being sarcastic, but for anyone else who may look over this and not understand..."
If I need to spell it out for you, the subtext is this:
*Grandbébés.*
You're reading Henry's body language and dialog wrong. I think you'll get what I'm hinting at.
